Health as a Human Right

Society has an obligation to help all of its members to be as healthy as possible.  This means access to affordable, good-quality medical care, treatment when one is ill, and recovery and rehabilitation assistance.  Health also relies upon prevention of disorders – which means good sanitation, safe housing, nutritious food, clean water, limited exposure to toxins, and so forth.  This course looks at human rights efforts to prevent, treat and eradicate disease and the conditions the undermine good health.
