Nine is Mine is an international program designed to eradicate child poverty. It grew out of Nelson Mandela’s call to ordinary citizens to hold governments responsible for ensuring the care and safety of the world’s youngest citizens, and to eradicate violence and poverty that afflict them. In India, the program fights for at least 9% of the nation’s GDP to be spent on children’s education. Hence, the name Nine is Mine.
